Education in Technology

Hello, Thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Takbir Ahmed Biswas and I m a 4th year student at the University of Lethbridge. My Major is General Management and I m an International student from Bangladesh.

In my opinion, Blogging is a very important technology in terms of online education for gaining knowledge. It is one of the most integral parts of web based education in the recent days since they allow users to post, share and discuss topics of numerous categories. It helps us to express our own views regarding academic materials as well as it allows us to comment on posts.

Blogging plays a very important role in enhancing online learning because it allows teachers and students to interact even when they are not in the class room. On the other hand, it works as a means of communication between people without meeting face to face.

Hello Takbir,
Your Blog looks very well put together, I can tell that you put a lot of thought and effort into creating it. Well done. I agree with your points that Blogs are an excellent tool for online students to utilize and that Blogs may be an integral element to any online education endeavors. However, I found some interesting statistics on another Blog that stuck me as being rather relevant to what we are studying. This Blog discussed a study completed at Harvard. It concluded the following:
- fewer than 4% of [business] teams ever meet physically as a whole
- fewer than 17% even have individual team members meet in person
- more than 66% of teams include members from at least three time zones

Do you feel that these statistics touch on possible concerns that could arise in online learning situations? If we use online learning in classrooms, are we presenting children with an opportunity to be anti-social in their learning? Can you really receive the same attention and educational experience in an online atmosphere that you could in a physical classroom?
In researching some of these ideas I also came across an interesting video which agues quite to the contrary. Many people feel that technological integration is vital for a student’s success at any age (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1qqmL5RW5k).
I am still formulating my own opinions on the topic, and I would love to hear more of your own.
Keep up the great work,
